The Safal Group CEO, Anders Lindgren, together with the Governor of Kiambu County, H.E. James Nyoro officially opened the Kiambu Covid-19 Center in Tigoni. Mabati Rolling Mills a Member of Safal Group in partnership with the Kiambu County and the Kiambu County Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund jointly fund the Isolation Unit, valued at over 25 million Kenyan shillings.

The health facility with a capacity of 104 beds is fully equipped with medical wards and changing facilities for the frontline healthcare workers.

Construction of the facility was commissioned in July and completed in a record 13 weeks thanks to SAFBUILD – A Pre Engineered Steel Building (PEB) technology by Mabati Rolling Mills Ltd (MRM).

This technology allows for offsite fabrication of the building with quick assemble and installation on site resulting in reduction of construction time by at least 50%.
